Ensoma Buzzwords

Social Media Video Series for Ensoma

Role: Animator, Art Director

Timeline: August 2021

Client: 1AB Media (communications firm) representing Ensoma (biotechnology company)

Background

I collaborated with 1AB Media, an external communications firm for life sciences brands, on a video for one of their clients, Ensoma. The creative brief was to create one motion graphics piece for social media that explains some of the details behind Ensoma’s process and gene therapy treatments. The goal was for it to be intriguing and easy for all viewers to follow along, regardless of their scientific knowledge.

Process

1AB provided the script, which was pretty straightforward consisting of a few sentences and definitions of key terms. I had about a week to create the first draft (Ensoma Buzzwords - v1). I used Ensoma’s colorful branding combined with some simple icons to illustrate the concepts.

More Process and Final Videos

After seeing everything put together in video form, both 1AB and Ensoma decided to split it into four much shorter videos. So I had about two weeks to complete those: two due the first week and two due the next.

I carried over many of the existing ideas from the original longer version and chose a different main color for each video in the series. The clients requested that the beginning of each video be slightly different as well.

Conclusion

Although I was pleased with how the original longer video turned out, I agree with the decision to split it into more digestible pieces. At first, I tried to think of more creative ways to illustrate the concepts. But it was a little challenging to wrap my head around the scientific language so I kept things simple and focused on the text. Overall the goal of creating eye-catching but easy-to-follow videos was achieved. The client ended up with not one but four engaging videos to grab viewers’ attention.
